The purpose of SHAMIL project is to create an inclusive society, in which every individual, each with rights and responsibilities, has an active role to play. Based on the principles of ‘Theater for Social Change’ – the project will highlight issues faced by marginalized communities in the country and bridge the divide between different groups. It will use participatory theater techniques to involve young people (16-20 students) as well as members of communities that are marginalized due to their gender, race, ideology, disability, location or social status.

Once selected, this group will receive all expense-paid, five-day training in theater design, script writing, management and communication of theater, dance, drama, music, lighting, research and presentation of ideas.

Experts from the fields of development communication, theater and public policy in Pakistan will develop a ground-breaking curriculum and facilitate the training workshop. In the final stage, this trained group will display their talents in front of large audiences across Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

We are inviting ‘Expression of Interest’ (EoI) from credible education institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, to partner with us in implementing this ground-breaking initiative. The partnering institutions would be able to nominate their students for free theater training, as well as get the opportunity to host the full theater play, developed as an output of the initiative.

All partners will gain acknowledgement through branding materials of the project and receive wide publicity through social and mainstream media.

If your education institution is interested in participation through nominating students for free theater training; and ensuring availability for theater performances in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, then please send us your EoI via email to info@pcdcpk.org maximum by Wednesday, May 17, 2019 .[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][layerslider_vc id=”4″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
